Science Secondary School Miri or simply the name of SM Sains Miri, is a science high school located in Jalan Sungai Nibong. 

In 2009, the School of Science Miri has 219 boys and 205 girls, making a total capacity of 424 students. It has a total of 52 teachers.

History 

Science Secondary School Miri is one of the boarding schools (SBP) in Malaysia and is the first in Sarawak SBP. Located opposite the Esplanade badger, this school is located 10 miles from the city center of Miri, Sarawak. This school is also located close to the Institution and the University Malaysia Sarawak Miri Airport. 

The school was built on a land area of ​​18.55 miles. Established thigh Jan. 1, 1990, the first group is a group of students who enrolled in Form One, Four and Six Low. During initial operation, only five teachers, including principals have been reported, and was attended by 13 teachers in February 1990. By 1995, consumption of Sixth Form students have been suspended and the school session 1995/1996, this school puts students of the National University Matriculation Malaysia said 26 people before matriculation colleges built in the Federal Territory of Labuan. The matriculation program was discontinued in 2000 after a takeover by the Ministry of Education.

SMKA SHEIKH HAJI OTHMAN ABDUL WAHAB (SHOAW) 

This school was started in the year 1976, when it was boarded at Government Secondary School Kuching No. 2 in fishes. At this stage, only the English and the English established. On January 3, 1977, the school was evacuated to the base of its own in Batu 14 Jalan Matang, Kuching. At that time, the school was known as Government Secondary School Maturity. A year later, on the date of May 29, 1978, the school's name was changed to Government Secondary School Religion Sheikh Haji Othman Abdul Wahab.

The process to start learning the religion began before the school name was changed from SMK SMK Matang to Sheikh Haji Othman. At that time, ie in 1977, after residing in the eternal, two levels of the religion class was officially opened by the Honorable Mr. Haj Ali Jafarudin, Deputy Minister of Education at that time. Open class mansion flow has enabled the school to create three streams of the Malay language, the English language and the religion.

Compatible with the establishment of religion class, the name of the school was changed to SMKA Sheikh Haji Othman Abdul Wahab. The official opening ceremony was officiated by YB Datuk Musa Hitam, the then Education Minister. The name change brings great meaning, then Education Minister. The name change brings great meaning for the first time the State had a school of religion.
