HISTORY 

Council of Religion and Malay Custom, Kelantan (MAIK) was established on 17 Safar 1334 December 24, 1915 together with the declaration by HRH Sultan Muhammad Ke IV. Its purpose is to advise Majesty the Sultan as the religious head of the Islamic affairs and Malay customs. 

MAIK ESTABLISHMENT PROCLAMATION

"Bahawasa in the Council meeting on Tuesday, 30 Muharram 1334 in conjunction with the December 7, 1915, has actually likes us mekurniakan the children of our country at a ceremony called the" Council of Religious and Malay Customs "due consideration for the welfare of the state of Kelantan. According to the study, HRH Sultan Muhammad Ke-IV forgive MAIK after receiving the assent of the establishment and suggestions of three French scholars and intellectuals (intelligentsia). They are: 

Haji Nik Mahmud bin Haji Ismail (Qadi) 

Haji Muhammad bin Khatib Hj. Muhammad Said 

Haji Awang Muhd. Yusoff bin Ahmad (Tok) 

On December 24, 1915 equal to 17 Safar 1334, Maik preached inception by HRH Sultan Muhammad Ke-IV in a glittering ceremony in the old Land Office Kota Bharu, in the presence of state dignitaries, witnessed by most of the people of Kelantan.
