School of Science, Sultan Mohamad Jiwa (SMSSMJ) is one of the boarding schools (SBP) in northern Malaysia. This school is that urban Sungai Petani, Kedah Darul Aman. This school was established in 1973 as a high school science prior renamed as Sultan Mohamad Jiwa School in 1984.
Opening a new name was made by His Majesty the Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah, the Sultan of Kedah. This name was subsequently changed to Sekolah Menengah Sains Sultan Mohamad Jiwa, and remains so now. In 2013, the School of Science, Sultan Mohamad Jiwa has 800 boys and 786 girls, making a total student capacity of 1,775 people.
It has a total of 126 people guru.2009 alumni of this school is known as Sassak (Collegiate Science Kedah).
